Biography
Farrokhroo Parsa was the first female cabinet minister in Iran's history and a great champion of Iranian women's rights, particularly in education reform. She was shot dead by firing squad in Tehran on May 8, 1980, during the height of Iran's cultural revolution. Her alleged crimes included removing Arabic language from educational curricula and banning the chador and hijab.
فرخرو پارسا نخستین وزیر زن در تاریخ ایران و مدافع بزرگ حقوق زنان ایرانی، به ویژه در زمینه اصلاحات آموزشی بود. او در تاریخ ۸ مه ۱۹۸۰ (۱۸ اردیبهشت ۱۳۵۹) در تهران و در اوج انقلاب فرهنگی تیرباران شد. اتهامات او شامل حذف زبان عربی از آموزش و کتابهای درسی و ممنوع کردن چادر و حجاب بود.
